Due to the enthusiastic response from the Open Book Project at Goldsmiths University, local art groups and London Live, to Rod Kitson’s Machines For Living In exhibition, it has been extended to at least August 17th.
This show has broken the mould in art exhibitions as visitors are encouraged to paint a one square foot of art to add to the already growing collection of one square foot artwork. People of all ages have been in and found themselves creating a piece of art, having found skills they never knew they had. And it is this aspect that has attracted all the media attention and convinced Surrey Quays Shopping Centre to ask the artist to stay on.
Machines For Living In is on at 47 Upper Mall, (Next to Boots the Opticians) Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, SE16 7LL until August 17th. Times: 11am – variable closing times. Daily. Admission: Free.
