AirCraft Circus Academy presents its end-of-term student showcase with an evening of circus cabaret. The show is the product of 16 weeks hard work and dedication from talented circus arts students. There will be a licensed bar and the usual AirCraft Circus Academy friendly party atmosphere. The Illusive Tales show is on December 7 and 8 at 7pm-11pm at Thames-Side Studios, Unit 7A Mellish House, Harrington Way, SE18 5NR. Tickets: £12 (adult), and £8 (15 and under). THE SINGING POSTBOX

Greenwich locals can be serenaded with a song as they post their Christmas cards this year. Royal Mail has introduced four ‘singing’ postboxes across the UK with Greenwich Promenade the chosen representative in England. The postbox plays one of a selection of three Christmas-themed ditties when a letter or card is posted. Greenwich Promenade, King William Walk, London, SE10 9HT.

PEACE OUT

As part of a country-wide tour, a 14-foot-high illuminated Peace Poem by Scottish artist and poet Robert Montgomery is parking up at Rothbury Hall in Greenwich from December 6-13 (not on December 9 or 10) from 10am-7pm. The mobile artwork is the start of Paper Peace, a year-long programme of art and events from renowned outdoor arts company Emergency Exit Arts. Rothbury Hall, Azof Street, SE10 0EF. Admission: free.

STICK WITH IT

Watch the Stick Man movie at Woodlands Farm Trust, and find everything on the trail before heading off to Santa’s grotto where you’ll be given your special certificate and your own Stick Man toy from Father Christmas. Sessions start at 10am and 11am. Booking is essential. Please arrive 10 minutes before the time of your booking as the film will be starting on the hour. December 8 at 10am-12:30pm at Woodlands Farm Trust, 331 Shooters Hill, DA16 3RP. Admission: £7.50 per child.

 

CAROLS AT THE COLLEGE

Sing along to Christmas Carols and enjoy the soothing sounds of the world class Trinity Laban Choir. The event at the Old Royal Naval College also has readings retelling the Christmas story and a special lantern procession by the 3rd Greenwich Park Girl Guides. Each ticket includes a festive drink, mince pie and programme plus a special performance by The Colomb St 5 during the pre-concert reception. December 7 at 7pm-8:30pm.
