Celebrate a world of pure imagination as The Chocolate Museum in Brixton celebrates Roald Dahl – and chocolate, of course – this month.
September 13th marks what would have been the children’s author’s 102nd birthday, and the Chocolate Museum. On September 9th, families are invited to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-inspired workshops, in which they can Make Your Own Wonka Bar. Participants will choose from different types of chocolate, before learning to temper and mould it. Then they will have to get creative, decorating their chocolate bar, and designing its packaging.
For those interested in art of a non-edible kind, the Museum is presenting an exhibition of new artistic interpretations of some of Dahl’s most beloved characters, in collaboration with Brixton-based creative company Massive Arms. The exhibition, running from September 5-16, promises to be a celebration of Dahl and his partnership with Quentin Blake, and their collective works’ continuing appeal. Just like in the book, Brixton’s very own chocolate factory has designed experiences which will delight Charlies and Grandpa Joes alike.
