Award-winning visual artist Sara Shakeel’s new exhibition is set to sparkle at the Peninsula’s NOW Gallery. The Great Supper is Shakeel’s most ambitious project to date and her first UK exhibition. Having gained notoriety for ‘breaking the internet’ multiple times on Instagram via her works, the dentist-turned-artist is renowned for conveying human emotions through striking and stylish collage works. The Great Supper will see Shakeel transform the gallery space into a three-dimensional theatrical banqueting scene saturated with glass crystals. A concert featuring songs by the “Italian Schubert” and music teacher to Queen Victoria’s children Francesco Paolo Tosti. Curated by Trinity Laban professor Dominic Natoli, the evening showcases the talents of some of the school’s male student singers, supported by one of our piano quartets. May 17 at 7:30pm. The Ferrier Operative Society is bringing Gilbert and Sullivan’s satirical show Ruddigore to Eltham. A comedic take on the Victorian melodrama genre, Ruddigore or the Witch’s Curse, is a comic opera.
