The Great Charlton Cake Off will take place on Sunday, June 24, and will raise money for Charlton family charity Big Red Bus Club.
Categories this year will include:
- Tray bake of any size
- Gluten-free cake
- Round sandwich cake
- World Cup cake (in celebration of the World Cup, cakes from all over the world)
- Four decorated biscuits (children under seven)
- Four small cakes (children aged seven – eleven)
A first and second prize will be awarded for each category, as well as an overall first prize winner.
The judges will be from the local branch of the Clandestine Cake Club, as well as celebrity guest judges. Marks will be awarded for flavour, external appearance, internal condition – but with the emphasis on flavour.
The cakes will be sold afterwards, with the proceeds going to the Big Red Bus Club, which is a local charity run by volunteers that works to serve the families in the area.
Entrants are allowed one cake in each category. The entry form can be found here.
The event is part of Charlton Park’s Great Get Together.
The deadline for cakes to be brought to the Big Red Bus Club is 10am on 24 June. Winners will be announced at noon.
