The Cure’s Robert Smith is to curate this year’s Meltdown festival, the Southbank Centre has announced.
Smith has been lead singer, guitarist and lyricist of the band since its formation in 1978, helping bring alternative rock to the mainstream.
He will be curating the 25th Meltdown, which has previously been hosted by Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker and Morrissey. It is set to be held from June 15 to 24.
Line-up details are set to be announced in March and tickets will go on sale to Southbank Centre members on March 13 and the public on March 15.
