The Bob Hope Theatre Actors’ Company is taking audiences on A Trip Across The Universe. With music and lyrics by the Beatles, the production is a very special evening of music which will make Beatles fans young and old tune in, turn off, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on and explode.

Inspired by Julie Taymor’s musical-movie Across The Universe, which takes a poignant look back at an inspiring and turbulent time in American culture, is a concert featuring some of the most loved songs in the world.

Following a successful production of Jonathan Larson’s Rent in 2011, director Stuart James wanted to create a new concept production for his Speakeasy Theatre company in Wellington, New Zealand. A Trip Across The Universe was a labour of love featuring a rock ‘n’ roll score filled with the forever relevant songs including I Want To Hold Your Hand, Come Together, I Am The Walrus, Blackbird, Across The Universe and many more.

With the final night already sold out, the Bob Hope Theatre Actor’s Company has brought together the original creative team from New Zealand, an incredibly talented local cast and a live onstage band of some of the best musicians in London.

A Trip Across The Universe- Music and Lyrics by The Beatles runs from May 16-19 at 7:45pm (and a 2:30pm matinee on Saturday 19 May) at Bob Hope Theatre, Wythfield Rd, SE9 5TG. Admission: £14. Phone: 020 8850 3702.
