Eighties classic Back to the Future is making a return to the big screen at the Southbank next year with a live orchestra, writes Susie Kellie…

The 1985 blockbuster, starring Michael J Fox, Christoper Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover, is making two appearances at the Royal Festival Hall in 2019 to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with an orchestra playing its original music score and an extra 20-minutes of new music.

Alan Silvestri, a world-famous conductor, composer and original song writer for Back to the Future will perform the movie’s original soundtrack with the Czech National Symphony, a sixty-nine piece orchestra from Prague.

Tickets are now on sale for a matinee at 1.30pm and evening performance at 7pm, on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
