The Shark is Broken reveals the hilarious and moving behind-the-scenes drama on one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.
Cape Cod, 1974: shooting on JAWS has stalled. The film’s lead actors – Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss – are stuck on a boat, frustrated by foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Awash with alcohol and ambition, three great white sharks start to bare their teeth…
Co-written by Jospeh Nixon and Robert Shaw’s son Ian, who stars as his father Robert, this funny but deeply moving play imagines what happens on board the Orca what the cameras stop rolling.
The Shark is Broken is on at the Ambassadors Theatre, West St, London WC2H 9ND from 11th May – 18th July. Times: Monday – Friday at 7.30pm; Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Admission: Tickets from £10. Phone: 0843 904 0061
