Councillor Christine May, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, accompanied by several council dignitaries, performed the official opening of the borough’s newest Pan-Asian restaurant, Toomai Square, launched by two brothers who have always dreamt of running a business together, writes Michael Holland.
Kumar Sunil, with a masters degree in business, and Bhola Prasad who has worked as a chef in many famous hotels across Asia, developed their fascination for food around the family’s kitchen table and decided to combine their talents in a Greenwich restaurant. ‘We decided to blend our love of Asian cuisine with hard-headed business sense,’ explains Kumar.
Commenting on the opening, Councillor May said: ‘This is a prime example of how budding business people can turn their dreams into reality through hard work, and help to boost the local economy in the process. I wish them every success with their efforts.
Bhola Prasad and his team provided a wonderful selection of starters and main courses that puts Toomai Square right up there with the best.
