Kirkaldy Testing Museum
Set in an old Victorian building that contrasts beautifully with Bankside’s chic contemporary businesses, the Kirkaldy Testing Museum is a volunteer run organisation that preserves one of the country’s most complex pieces of engineering.
Kirkaldy’s hydraulic Universal Testing Machine is maintained in full working order in the original building Kirkaldy himself had constructed for it.
As well as the Machine itself, the Museum showcases the history of the Kirkaldy family and full exhibitions of the uses of the Machine and the scientific good that materials testing achieves.
