A church has stood on the grounds of Southwark Cathedral for more than 1000 years.
The structure that still stands today was built between the 13th and 15th centuries, and has consistently been one of the most distinguishing pieces of South London’s architecture throughout that time.
As well as continuing to function as a place of Anglican worship, the Cathedral is also a draw for tourists who come to the city to take in the stunning architecture and fascinating history.
The Cathedral hosts tours, heritage walks, talks and events, as well as educational events.
