The Young Vic Theatre
Formed following the Second World War as an offshoot of the famous Old Vic Theatre, the Young Vic Theatre has been a central part of bringing art and theatre to the young people of London.
Throughout its history it has been owned by a number of different patrons and became an independent body in 1974. Its work is designed to appeal to young people and to encourage them to engage more thoroughly with the world of performing arts.
Today, it stages productions by new writers, directors and performance groups and is still closely involved in its community.
